Six homeowner association (HOA) committees collaborate with the Cameron Station Board of Directors to oversee and manage the community. These committees serve as avenues for homeowners to actively engage in Cameron Station’s affairs, playing a crucial role in shaping the neighborhood and making it such a wonderful place to live. Every quarter, these committees share updates on their activities and future plans through the Committee Corner article, fostering transparency and community engagement.

The Cameron Club Facilities Committee
Many thanks to the Cameron Club Facilities Committee (CCFC) members and our management company CAMP for working through a number of challenging recommendations concerning the new exercise equipment, roofing issues, and the recarpeting of our clubhouse. It takes a real team effort to properly vet all the options for these projects. We are grateful for everyone’s efforts as it took months to make it all happen. We are also grateful to the Board of Directors for their unwavering commitment to keeping Cameron Station a beautiful and highly desirable community to live, work and play in. Lastly, we appreciate residents’ constructive feedback, some of which recently led CCFC to recommend expanding lap swim hours at our pool. Thank you!
“Every step you take towards fitness is a step away from illness. Embrace the power of prevention.”

Common Area Committee
By Don Williams, Vice Chair
The Donovan Drive pocket park at the intersection of Murtha Drive has been redesigned! The original design had linden trees that were badly planted by the builders and were not growing well. Many had already died and were replaced at one end by cherry trees that were flourishing. The new design features cherry trees and other updated landscaping around the perimeter and maintains the existing turf area at the center. Management and Lancaster Landscapes are monitoring the health of the new vegetation. A few trees that struggled with warmer days were removed and will be replaced in cooler fall weather.
Beautiful seasonal flowers have been planted at the Duke Street entrance, the gazebo circle, and in front of the Cameron Club. The committee has begun its monthly walk-throughs to review the condition of common areas and look for problem spots. Walks are held in the morning on the third Thursdays of each month through August, weather permitting. You’ll see us out and about with Management and Lancaster Landscapes.
Ongoing projects include replacing trees in decline, addressing drainage and erosion needs, and addressing thin turf in common areas. As much of our community’s original landscaping ages, the committee continues to replace declining vegetation and restore our pocket parks and common areas.
Committee members served as judges for the annual Pride of Ownership contest, which was evaluated in early June. Areas judged include overall appearance/design impact, planting choices, clean edges (no weeds), pruned trees and shrubs, and turf condition. Please look for CAC member Kathy McCollom’s Compass article on this year’s Pride of Ownership for more information on the winners.
Another exciting new project is in the works! A rain garden is planned for the common area on Barbour Drive, behind 5007 and 5009 John Ticer Drive. Rain gardens help manage stormwater runoff and benefit the environment while adding native plants and beauty to the area. It's both a catch basin for runoff and plants that are happy to use more water.
The CAC relies on your help to keep Cameron Station beautiful. Please notify Management if you notice any concerns in our common areas, such as loose bricks, street lights that are out, or trees that may need attention. Management maintains a list of ongoing maintenance tasks and can help route items to the appropriate party.
The Common Area Committee is responsible for advising the Board of Directors on landscape maintenance and services such as snow removal. You can reach the CAC and Chairperson Martha Romans by emailingcommonarea@cameronstation.org.
