The joyful spirit of spring was alive and well in Cameron Station this past weekend as residents came together for the annual Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 30. The event was held at the picturesque Kilburn Street/Donovan Drive pocket park, and the day was filled with laughter, joy, and a whole lot of egg-citement!
With the sun shining brightly overhead, volunteers worked diligently to scatter hundreds of eggs throughout the park, ensuring that each age group—from the tiny tots aged 2 and under to the energetic 6-year-olds and up—had their chance to participate in the egg hunt. And it wasn't just any egg hunt: special golden eggs hidden among the colorful ones promised exciting prize bundles for their lucky finders.
Much to the delight of animal lovers of all ages, the event also featured a petting area with live bunnies. The "Spring Bunny" also made a grand appearance, arriving in a convertible, escorted by a team of bunny security guards. And in a delightful twist, residents were treated to an unexpected dance routine by the bunny security crew.
Of course, no community event would be complete without delicious treats to enjoy. Attendees indulged in hot coffee, creamy hot chocolate, and delectable donut holes, providing the perfect complement to the day's activities.
More than just a way to welcome spring, the Eggstravaganza event was an opportunity for Cameron Station neighbors to come together and celebrate the vibrant spirit of our community.
