A huge thank you to everyone in our community who helped make the Blood Drive such an outstanding success. Whether you donated blood, helped with refreshments, or assisted with set-up and clean-up, your generosity and willingness to show up made a real difference.
We are thrilled to share that the drive on April 18, 2026, filled every appointment slot, far exceeding the goal set by the American Red Cross. Their target was 20 units of blood, but the turnout was so strong that they collected 31 units, surpassing the goal by 55%! These donations go directly to patients in need—people undergoing surgery, cancer treatments, trauma care, and other medical emergencies. Every single donation has the potential to save up to three lives, meaning we made a significant collective impact that will help patients throughout the DMV region.
The Red Cross staff repeatedly shared how impressed they were with the strong turnout and enthusiasm of our donors. We also want to sincerely thank everyone who came ready to donate but could not be accommodated once all appointment slots were filled. While walk-ins were unfortunately limited by capacity, we truly appreciate your willingness to give and hope you will join us again at our next drive.
In addition, we also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Cameron Station management, Facilities team, Communication and Events committees, as well as the Fitness Center staff for their support in helping make this event run so smoothly. Their help was essential to the success of the drive; we are so grateful for everything that was done behind the scenes.
