Thanks to the generous support of Cameron Station residents, including many generous community neighbors, the 15th Annual Operation Gobble Gobble!, reached its goal of providing 100 Tucker Elementary families with $100 in grocery gift certificates to purchase Thanksgiving meals.

On November 19, 2024, Donna Kenley and Kay Brown, representing Cameron Station, presented Samuel W. Tucker Elementary Principal Adaarema Kelly with grocery gift certificates totaling $10,000. These provided much-needed meals and holiday spirit for Tucker Elementary families who had been identified by the school social worker as needing a little help this Thanksgiving season.

Rotary picWest End Rotary President Bill Berry and Secretary Mimi Haggarwal present a $1,000 check to Donna Kenley for Gobble Gobble!

We want to thank not only our Cameron Station neighbors, but also our local businesses: Irina Babb Homes LLC, Cameron Café, and Aldo’s Italian Kitchen; the West End Rotary Club, which has supported Gobble Gobble! for 11 years; Tucker’s tutors from the Alexandria Tutoring Consortium, a non-profit that works with Alexandria City Public Schools, who rally each year to support this worthy cause; and once again, the “Secret Sponsor” who matched donations up to $2,000…a wonderful sponsorship that exemplifies this caring community that we all enjoy.

Thanks to all of you who brought hope to many families who could use a little help during the holiday season.
