Dear Cameron Station Residents,

As water fees continue to rise, we all feel the impact on our monthly expenses. Let’s work together to reduce overall water consumption and minimize costs. To help, we've put together a few simple water-saving tips that can make a significant difference.

Plumbing Inspection & Water Usage
Water usage is one of the largest single expense items, and with monthly bills on the rise, we ask all residents to take a moment to inspect the plumbing fixtures throughout your home for any potential leaks. Common offenders include running toilets and leaking faucets. Even small leaks can have a big impact, so please ensure that there are no leaks, and that your plumbing components are functioning properly.

A quick reminder: Toilet paper is the only product that should be flushed. Flushing anything else can cause damage, potentially leading to costly repairs.

Water-Saving Tips for Your Home
Here are a few practical ways to reduce water consumption in your home:

  1. Fix Leaks Immediately
Even a small drip can waste gallons of water each day. Regularly check faucets, showerheads, and pipes for leaks, and get them repaired promptly.

Running Toilets: Did you know a running toilet can waste hundreds of gallons of water each day? Fixing it is easier than you might think! Whether it's a faulty flapper, a broken fill valve, or an issue with the float, most running toilet problems can be solved with a simple DIY repair.

  1. Install Low-Flow Fixtures
Low-flow faucets, showerheads, and toilets are designed to use less water without compromising performance. These easy upgrades can save a significant amount of water over time.
  2. Be Mindful of Shower Time
Cutting down your shower time by just a few minutes can save gallons of water each day. Consider using a timer or setting a goal to shorten your showers.
  3. Run Dishwashers and Washing Machines Only When Full
These appliances consume a lot of water, so to maximize efficiency, make sure you are only running them when full.
  4. Collect and Reuse Water
You can collect excess water from rinsing fruits and vegetables or boiling pasta. This water can be used for plants or cleaning.
  5. Upgrade to Efficient Appliances
If you're in the market for new appliances, look for Energy Star-rated dishwashers, washing machines, and refrigerators designed to use less water and energy.
  6. Reduce the Use of Running Water
Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, washing dishes by hand, or performing tasks that don’t require a constant flow of water. This small habit can lead to significant savings.

By adopting even a few of these strategies, you'll be helping to reduce both your environmental footprint, as well as your water bill.

Together, we can make a big difference.
