“There’s nothing better than live music. It’s raw energy, and raw energy feeds the soul.” - Dhani Jones
Not only is our coffee shop a hub for pastries, sandwiches, coffee, beer, wine, and social congregating, Cameron Cafe also hosts live musical performances. Local musicians bring a variety of styles for your enjoyment. These are not paid gigs, so the artists donate their time and energy, and appreciate the generosity of the patrons. Neighbors gather faithfully to support live music and our favorite neighborhood coffee shop.
The Peacemakers, a duo composed of Cameron Station neighbors Eddie Dickerson & Jackie Wright Martin, has regularly performed for us, including a recent holiday-themed show in full Santa garb. With Jackie on vocals and guitar, and Eddie on vocals, fiddle, guitar, and banjo, they perform both original and cover songs. Their composition “At the Cameron Cafe” was cleverly crafted from lyrics submitted by the audience. This talented pair creates unique harmonies and involves the audience in the show.
The Peacemakers are crowd favorites, who attract fans from Cameron Station and beyond. The Peacemakers will be performing at Cameron Cafe Jan 29th and Mar 26th.
Another regular duo at the Cafe is The Back Alley Blues Boys. Art Hildebrand and Shawn Askin bring many years of musical experience. This acoustic duo performs both private and commercial gigs all around the DC Metro area. While known best for their traditional Delta Blues, these versatile gentlemen also play a variety of folk, rockabilly, and roots rock & roll. The Back Alley Blues Boys will be returning to Cameron Cafe February 25, 2026. Come and check them out.
Cameron Station is quite lucky to count Veronneau among our regular performers. Husband and wife duo Lynn Veronneau and Ken Avis are internationally known, performing a variety of bossa nova, French chanson, folk, blues, and pop selections. This award-winning, multilingual pair regularly sells out at Blues Alley in Georgetown. However, they admit to having great fun when performing at Cameron Cafe, where they are warmly received by the crowd!
Their cross-genre selections with powerful melodies and engaging harmonies make Veronneau a favorite wherever they perform. Lynn and Ken recently treated us to highlights from their latest album, Blue Tapestry, celebrating songs from Joni Mitchell’s Blue and Carole King’s Tapestry.
Tom Kemler is a talented keyboard player who has now performed twice at Cameron Cafe. Some of you may know Tom from his involvement with the tutoring program at Samuel Tucker Elementary. Most recently accompanied by his friend Craig Fenely on bass, Tom staged a sing-along at the coffee shop, with a set list provided ahead of the event. He performs recognizable hits such as Under the Boardwalk, Sweet Caroline, California Dreaming, and Imagine. The audience is always eager to join in, sometimes in a variety of keys (LOL). Regardless, endorphins abound as Tom and Craig fill the room with musical favorites.
New to Cameron Cafe this past year, we welcomed Bill Schroeher. Bill performs both as a solo acoustic artist, and as part of several local cover bands. He performs hits from the ‘60s to today, across a wide span of genres, providing something for everyone. Bill was thrilled with the Café crowd’s level of enthusiasm and audience participation, and very much enjoyed the interaction. Lucky for us, Bill will be returning to Cameron Café April 8, 2026.
Unfinished Business was formed by Cameron Station neighbor Peter Greenbaum and his musical compadre Joe Toole. Both members of local band The Hip Replacements, Peter and Joe came together to bring us their unique take on American music. Their recognizable tunes hit home with the audience, creating an instant connection. Much fun was had by all.
Unfinished Business plans to return for a second appearance possibly in June; stay tuned for details.
Cameron Cafe welcomed Janna Audey & Rob Santos for the first time this past year. Coincidentally, in the mid-2000s, Janna was the very first musician to perform at what was then Cameron Perks; welcome back, Janna! Now accompanied by husband Rob Santos, a masterful guitar player, the duo brings us a broad variety of originals and covers.
Janna on vocals and acoustic guitar, and Rob on his Fender Strat, have been making music together for over 30 years. Cameron Station fans were delighted to experience their classic jams and chill vibes. The audience immediately felt at home with this talented pair. Janna Audey & Rob Santos return to Cameron Cafe March 4, 2026.
